Associate Professor of Performing Arts and Oklahoma! costume designer Jack Smith describes the history of quilting on the American frontier in his Talk on the Steps for Oklahoma! Smith explained how he created a quilt in a “Road to Oklahoma” design, made from fabric scraps from the production’s costumes and quilted on a 1915 Singer treadle sewing machine.
